Abstract
According to the practice experience of high manganese steel production, it was put forward that the mechanism of forming crack in the production and growing crack in using with high punch load. The author think that the cast non-normal losing effectiveness in use is caused by microcrack, carbide hole, iron phosphide eutectic in grain boundary, non-metallic inclusion, shrinkage cavity, porosity in the inside cast. For prevention cast crack in the course of production, we should consider different characteristic of high manganese steel on each sectors, such as structure design, the chemical composition selection, smelting, cast, molding, cleaning and heat-treatment, and work out scientific technology and strictly implement. This can obtain high cast. Cast crack of castings is prevented by grain refinement, strengthening deoxygen and dephosphorization. The practice experiences show that the above measures are effective ways of removing and fading cracks of high manganese steel casting.
