Abstract
Three ionic liquids (1-14 alkyl bromide, 3-methylimidazole (short as 1-14), 1-14 alkyl bromide, 3-hexane imidazole (short as 6-14), 1-14 alkyl bromide, 3-decane imidazole (short as 10-14)) were applied as the accelerants for alkali deweighting of polyester fabrics to study the effects of the dosage of sodium hydroxide and accelerants as well as the temperature and time of alkali deweighting on alkali deweighting of polyester fabrics were analyzed, and the results were compared with the results of conventional alkali deweighing accelerator sixteen alkyl methyl bromide (CTAB). Meanwhile, the deweighting rate of polyester fabrics was tested. The results show that imidazolium ionic liquid can be used as alkali deweighting accelerant of polyester fabrics, and can effectively improve the processing efficiency of alkali deweighting, enhance the utilization rate of alkali agent and reduce the dosage of alkali agent. By controlling the temperature and time, the deweighting rate of the fabric can be changed. The results show that the promotion effect of accelerants on alkali deweighting of polyester fiber is as follows: 10-14 > CTAB >6-14 > 1-14. The promotion effect of imidazole ionic liquid accelerant is positively correlated with the length of carbon chain in the accelerant molecule. © 2017 China Silk Association. All rights reserved.
