Studies on ternary complexes of CuII, PbII, Ni II, ZnII, CoII, CdII, Mn II, MgII and CaII, with cephalexine (HCEX) and some amino acids, viz. β-alanine (β-Ala) and cysteine (Cys), in the ratio 1: 1: 1, have been investigated by potentiometric technique at μ = 0.1 M (NaClO4) and temp. = 25 ± 0.5° in aqueous medium. The stability constants and Smin values of the ternary systems M(II)-β-Ala-HCEX (A) and M(II)-Cys-HCEX (B) have been calculated. The results have been discussed in terms of different astatistical factors such as metal-ligand interaction, structure of the ligands and intramolecular ligand-ligand interactions.
