Cynodon dactylon is a weedy, evergreen perennial, commonly known as bermudagrass. The entire plant is being used for medicinal purpose in the form of paste, powder, and juice as per Indids traditional pharmacopoeia (Ayurveda), Unani and Homoeopathic systems of medicine. The present study and findings deal with the biological properties of different extracts of leaves and roots of C. dactylon contain micronutrient, metals, GC-MS chemical profiles and free fatty acids methyl esters which are frequently used as herbal medicine as the grass is reported to be alterative, anabolic, antiseptic, aperient, astringent, cyanogenetic, demulcent, depurative, diuretic, emollient, soporific, and vulnerary. Toxicity studies using water, methanol, ethyl acetate and hexane extracts of C. dactylon leaves and roots have been studied for their antifungal activity on Fusarium sp. and Trichosporium vesiculosum is also discussed.
