Abstract
Colloidal polymer particles, in both aqueous and nonaqueous media, are materials of considerable practical importance. They also have become the subject of growing scientific interest. Scientific attention has focused primarily on understanding the kinetics and mechanism of particle formation in dispersion polymerization. This paper is concerned with a new model which describes energy transfer from naphthalene group in PMMA chains to anthracene added to the isooctane dispersion. The authors suggest a model, based upon phase-separated microdomains, which accommodates experimental observations.
