Invitro antimicrobial activity of Hexane:Ethanol [1:1ratio] of Butea monosperma (L) leaf extract screened against multidrug resistant bacteria including staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, isolated from clinical specimen. Hexane: Ethanol combination extract had shown antimicrobial activity when compared with control DMSO treated group, P<0.05 considered to be statistically significant in all groups. Phytochemical studies on leaf extract of Butea monosperma (L) revealed the presence of alkaloids, carbohydrates, flavonoids, tannins and phenolics. © 2010 IJDDR, Pattari Lohitha1 et al.
