Abstract
Production of anthraquinone by oxidation of anthracene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of oxide vanadium bronzes (OVB) has been investigated. Catalytic properties of complex bifunctional catalytic systems based on OVB have been studied. It has been shown that the maximum catalytic activity of OVB in the reaction of anthracene with hydrogen peroxide takes place in the field of beta- and gamma-phase homogeneity, while it is function of copper content. It has been supposed that hydrogen peroxide action can follow by two different mechanisms: either as a 'direct' oxygen carrier or by radical mechanism. .
