Abstract
Trifluoromethanesulfonimide (triflimide) is an extremely active Brønsted acid catalyst for the condensation of trimethylhydroquinone with isophytol; the reaction in hexane proceeds smoothly in the presence of 1 mol% of triflimide under reflux.
