Synthesis of (1α,5α,6α)-6-amino-3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]-hexane is described. Ethyl diazoacetate cycloaddition to a pyrroline or maleimide derivative provides the azabicyclohexyl system; amine introduction is then effected using a modified Curtius rearrangement.
