Abstract
An apparatus has been designed and a rapid convenient method put into practice to determine the sorptivity of porous ceramic materials. A simple dynamic model has been proposed which permits the rate of liquid suction by porous ceramic materials to be related to the physical properties of the liquid (density, viscosity and surface tension) and to the properties of the solid characterizing its porous texture (effective suction porosity and average pore radius.
