Abstract
The distribution constants of dihexylphosphoric acid in binary phase extraction systems of the type water-organic solvent miscible in it (the polar phase)-hexane solution of trihexyl phosphate (nonpolar phase). The dimerization constants of the acid in the nonpolar phase were calculated from the concentrational dependences of the distribution coefficients. It is shown that change in the degree of hydration of the polar phase and dilution of trihexyl phosphate by hexane has a great influence on the extractability of dihexylphosphoric acid. This can be used to select conditions for the preparative separation of dihexylphosphoric acid from trihexyl phosphate solutions.
