Abstract
A heterogeneous platinum-mordenite catalyst KI-S56. promoted by boron oxide and chlorinating modifier, was synthesized and tested. The tests were carried out in the process of hydroisomerization of pentane-hexane fractions. Hydrocarbon composition of source material and the products manufactured was determined chromatographically. In the course of pilot tests it was shown that the catalyst considered permitted isomerizing n-alkanes C5-C7 and their hydrocarbon fractions in the medium temperature range quite effectively in one run. Octane number of isomerized product reaches 82-85.
