A cheap Nitroamine oxidizer for solid propellants

This paper demonstrates the possibility for 1,3,5- trinitro-l,3,5-triazac,vclohexanone (TTCHN) to be used as an oxidizer of BTPB propellants. The properties of TTCHN. its thermal stability and its compatibility with other main ingredients of HTPB propellants are given. The specific impulse measured by small motor tests, burning rate, pressure exponent, impact and friction sensitivities, mechanical properties and the storage ability of the HTPB/TTCHN/AP propellant are also given. The results show that TTCHN posesses higher energy and density. The main performances of the HTPB propellant containing TTCHN is analogous to that of the propellant, containing HM, while the price of TTCHS is only 1/10 of that of HMX.
