Abstract
In order to study the power ability and equation of state of detonation products for a HMX-based PBX composed of 90% of HMX and 10% of binder, the Φ25 mm cylinder test was carried out and the characteristic parameters of power ability and Gurney velocity of 2.80 mm·μs-1 of this PBX were obtained. The cylinder test was numerically simulated by nonlinear dynamic finite element program ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The parameters of JWL equation of state (EOS) for this HMX-based PBX were obtained by comparing and adjusting the numerical simulation results to their experimental ones. To confirm the parameters, an explosive driven plate flyer test was carried out and numerically simulated. Its simulation results agree well with the experimental ones, indicating that the parameters of JWL EOS of detonation products derived from the cylinder test are reliable.
