Abstract
Ignition performances of TNT were studied by a great-scale drop hammer loading device under temperatures and impact loading actions. The effect of the volume of vodis and temperature on the ignition performance of TNT was investigated. The results show that the relation between square root of drop hammer increase height and loading stress peak value is linear, volume of vodis and temperature affect ignition performance of TNT. When temperature is 20°C and the value of volume of vodis increases from 28.6 mm3 to 50.2 mm3, the loading stress peak value drops by 18.3%, while volume of vodis is 50.2 mm3 and temperature increases from 40°C to 50°C, loading stress peak value drops by 57.5%, which is more sensitive to temperature changes. Loading stress peak value and volume of vodis have an exponential relationship.
