The IR and UV absorption spectra of solutions of oils used in industrial carbon dioxide apparatuses, both new and after operation and subjection to temperature influences, pressure, and neutron irradiation, as well as samples of oils extracted from gas phases, were studied. It was established by the method of UV spectroscopy that: the first of the two maxima of the spectrum of oils, with greater intensity, corresponds to the wavelength congruent 230 nm, the second, with intensity 1n epsilon equals 3. 3-3. 5, corresponds to the wavelength 257-261 nm in pentane, hexane, ethanol, and n-octane, and 265 nm in CCl//4.
