Abstract
The source of odor of slurry high density polyethylene(HDPE) was explored by solvent extraction and volatile composition analysis. The influence of slurry polymerization process on product odor was discussed. The odor of slurry HDPE was improved by secondary degassing. The results show that the odor caused by slurry HDPE are volatiles including hexane, octane, and decane. The volatile in HDPE powder can be removed by centrifugal and drying with nitrogen and steam to eliminate the odor of product. © 2020, Beijing Yanshan Branch, Assets Management Corporation, SINOPEC.
