Abstract
The experimental photocurrent transients in anthracene crystals of duration less than the microscopic transit time T0 are studied. The transients are analysed in relation to the movement of the excess free carriers which, as they migrate towards the collecting electrode, are subject to trapping and detrapping phenomena by monoenergetic levels. The theoretical signals, which depend not only on the microscopic transit time but also on the trapping parameters Ïin and Ïd, are in good agreement with the experimental results. Analysis of the transients reveals the presence of at least two monoenergetic hole-trapping levels with activation energies of E1=0.26 eV and E2=0.40 eV, respectively. © 1976 Società Italiana di Fisica.
