Abstract
1. The visual-polythermal method was used to study the ternary system m-dinitrobenzene-2,4,-6-trinitro-m-xylene-picric acid, and also the binary systems that enter into it. 2. In the dinitrobenzene-trinitroxylene system the eutectic contains 10% trinitroxylene at 82°; in the trinitroxylene-picric acid system the eutectic contains 85% picric acid at 107.5°, and in the dinitro-benzene-picric acid system the eutectic contains 45% picric acid at 59.5°. 3. The ternary system dinitrobenzene-trinitroxylene-picric acid is characterized by a eutectic point of composition: 52% dinitrobenzene, 5% trinitroxylene, and 43% picric acid at 57°. © 1967 Consultants Bureau.
