1. A reactive complex of ethylene (decomposition product of ethyl chloride) and active silicon is formed under the conditions of the reaction of ethyl chloride with a silicon-copper contact mass that contains calcium suicide. 2. The theory was expressed that this complex takes part in the formation of ethyldichlorosilane, which is in agreement with the rules for the change in the composition of the reaction products during the synthesis process. © 1973 Consultants Bureau.
