1. Diethylaluminum chloride in the presence of olefins, butadiene or styrene, in the temperature range 20-40°, reacts with ethyl chloride, being converted to aluminum chloride. 2. The reaction has a well-defined autocatalytic character. The autocatalysis during the course of the transformations is determined by the reaction of diethylaluminum chloride with the formed aluminum trichloride. © 1972 Consultants Bureau.
