Abstract
1. 1. In addition to o-phenanthroline, the nonchelating o-phenanthroline analogs, m-phenanthroline, phenanthridine and phenanthrene-9-aldehyde, could inhibit the glumamic dehydrogenase reaction. In each instance the inhibition was prevented by ADP. 2. 2. Phenanthridine was also shown to disaggregate the glutamic dehydrogenase molecule and therefore stimulate the alanine dehydrogenase reaction. © 1962.
