Abstract
1. An analysis of the EPR spectrum of the 9, 9â²-dianthryl anion-radieal has led to the conclusion that the unpaired electron is localized in one of the anthryl moieties as a result of ion-pair formation with the metal cation. 2. When reduced, 9, 9â²-dlanthryl decomposes, with formation of anthracene. 3. The EPR spectrum which appears when 9, 9â²-dianthryl is oxidized with sulfuric acid has been studied. © 1969 Consultants Bureau.
