Abstract
Methoxychlor (CAS 72-43-5) is a manufactured chemical. Pure methoxychlor is a pale-yellow powder. Methoxychlor is used as an insecticide against flies and a wide variety of other insects. It is also used on agricultural crops and livestock, home gardens, and pets. Methoxychlor is banned for agriculture uses in most countries based on its acute toxicity, bioaccumulation, and endocrine disruption activity. Methoxychlor is used against the beetle vectors of Dutch elm disease. © 2014 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
