Abstract
Trace analyses of terpenoids compounds in the sediment by silica gel column chromatography and followed by mass fragmentgraphy were studid. A continuous extraction of the sediment samples for 6 h was appropreate. Terpenoids (longiforene, calamenene, dehydroabietane, dehydroabietin, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroretene and retene) were eluted in a fraction of hexane. For the determination of nano grams of terpenoids by mass-fragmentgraphy, a column of 5% SE-30 was used. This method is applicable to the determination of trace amounts of dehydroabietane and retene in the sediment in Hiro Bay. â Behavior of Organic Matter in the Polluted Coastal Areas.
