Abstract
A method is described for the chlorination of acetanilide and related compounds by adsorbing the sample on silica gel, followed by exposing the thin-layer plate to chlorine gas. The reaction products are then separated on the same plate by developing with diethyl ether-hexane (99:1), and identified by running known chloro compounds simultaneously. © 1971 Springer-Verlag.
