Abstract
Based on PAH-degrading bacteria, consortia have been created, which showed active growth on a mixture of naphthalene, fluorene, and anthracene. Their biomass increased by a factor of 6.6-14. Gas chromatography analysis showed that naphthalene was the most degrading; the degree of its destruction during seven days of cultivation was 94.6-97.7%. Fluorene degradation was 57.1-70.4%. Anthracene was the most resistant to microbial impact. The degree of its degradation by the studied consortia was 19.2-39.8%. The results showed that effective bioremediation of different ecosystems contaminated with mixed organic compounds can be achieved by using microbial consortia. © EM International.
