The reaction of N-phenyl hydroxylamine (1) with diketone (2-8) in the presence of weak acid as a catalyst afforded the corresponding dianiline oxide derivatives (9-15). The structures of these products were characterized by their elemental analysis (C.H.N.), 1H NMR and Mass spectra.
