1. The relation of the catalyst activity and the activation energy of cyclohexane dehydrogenation to the rhenium content of the catalyst was investigated. The optimal catalyst, giving the lowest activation energy contained ∼30 weight % of rhenium. 2. The relative adsorption coefficients of benzene and hydrogen on the optimal catalyst were determined. 3. The relative adsorption coefficient of benzene was independent of temperature. 4. The dehydrogenation of cyclohexane on rhenium is a zero-order reaction. 5. The activation energies determined on rhenium-covered charcoal were the true values and varied from 12.8 to 20.3 kcal/mole. 1960 Consultants Bureau.
