Abstract
An analysis of the N.M.R. spectra of both neat fluorobenzene and a 5 mole per cent solution of fluorobenzene in cyclohexane was done by transition assignment and curve fitting of the 1H and 19F spectra at 60·0 and 56·4 Mc/s, respectively. All of the 1H–1H and 1H-19F coupling constants and internal chemical shifts were obtained and found to be unique. The direct 13C-1H, 13C-19F and the 13C-C-19F couplings have been determined from the 13C spectrum of fluorobenzene at 15·085 Mc/s. Results obtained are compared with those reported earlier. Some features of the 6-spin fluorobenzene system and evidence for virtual coupling of the 19F and 1H nuclei are discussed. 1967, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
