1. In the presence of 0.5% Pd gumbrine catalyst treated with hydrogen sulfide, at 470°, 20 atm H2, v=1.0 hr-1, and H2:HC=5::1, cyclohexane forms 40.2% benzene and 22.7% methylcyclopentane. 2. The carrier, activated gumbrine, under the same conditions possesses a considerable isomerizing action toward contraction of the six-membered ring to a five-membered. 3. A method has been developed for the photometric quantitative determination of palladium in palladinized gumbrine catalysts. 1962 Consultants Bureau.
