1. On the basis of a measurement of σsp of Ni-Cr2O3 catalyst, produced by the reduction of hydroxides and calcined oxides, the degrees of reduction were determined, and it was shown that under the conditions selected the catalysts are not reduced completely either by hydrogen or by the reaction mixture during the catalytic dehydrogenation of cyclohexane. 2. In catalysts reduced from the hydroxides, and in a number of catalysts reduced from the oxides, very fine nickel particles with dimensions ∼20 Å are detected. In the work of such catalysts there is a sintering of the finely divided nickel, accompanied by a sharp increase in σsp. 3. At the stage of reduction of mixed oxides, for the production of Ni-Cu-Cr2O3 catalysts, an inhomogeneous Ni-Cu alloy is formed, which was demonstrated by the change in the specific magnetization during sintering. 1971 Consultants Bureau.
