Abstract
Unusual alterations of the endoplasmic reticulum were seen in the oligodendroglia of young rats treated with AY9944. They consisted of: 1. random proliferation of membranes within the cytoplasm, some of them with attached ribosomes; 2. multi-layers of paired membranes connected to the cisternae of the rough endoplasmic reticulum which encircled the cytoplasm of oligodendroglia as a whole or focally; 3. formation of numerous small whorls of about 0.5 μm in diameter which are made up of two fused membranes of the rough endoplasmic reticulum. 1973 Chapman and Hall Ltd.
