1. We studied the joint adsorption of vapors of cyclohexane and water on activated carbon, equilibrated with moisture. 2. The amounts of adsorption of cyclohexane determined in experiments at equilibrium relative humidities of water vapor do not depend on the amount of preadsorbed water responsible for the adsorption or desorption branches of the isotherm. 3. For identical contents of preadsorbed water, but with different equilibria with relative humidities, corresponding to the adsorption and desorption branches of the isotherm, the adsorption curves and the values for adsorption of cyclohexane differ significantly from each other. 1983 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
