Abstract
Seismic attribute analysis technology has been widely used in petroleum exploration and development, such as sedimentary facies analysis, fracture prediction, characterization of special lithologic bodies, reservoir, and petroleum distribution prediction. It has become a conventional research method. On the other hand, seismic attributes are widely questioned in the industry because of their uncertainty and ambiguity, especially by some geologists. Taking the South Turgay Basin in Kazakhstan as the study target, based on fine horizon calibration and structural interpretation, this paper attempts to establish an effective quantification mechanism for seismic attributes, so that seismic attributes can quantitatively represent geological significance and reduce vagueness and multi-solution. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.
