Abstract
Both ChevronTexaco and ABB Lummus Global have made significant, long-term commitments to the development of technology for the production of high quality petroleum products. This is especially true in the field of hydroprocessing, where their joint-venture company, Chevron Lummus Global (CLG), continues to lead the industry in innovative applications of their process and catalyst technologies. CLG's newest and most exciting process innovation, called ISOFLEX, is now ready for commercialization. A discussion covers the fundamental principles that ISOFLEX was founded, at the core of efficient hydrocracking; commercialized process innovations for introduction to the petroleum industry, i.e., ISOFLEX for mild hydrocracking, for high-conversion operation, and in second-stage hydrocracking; and CLG ISOMIX reactor internals technology. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 2005 NPRA Annual Meeting (San Francisco, CA 3/13-15/2005).
