Abstract
The article describes the first project results of a research conducted by Federico II University Department of Architecture The research tests new design processes to define a procedure verifiable and repeatable to revitalize and reclaim the brownfields. Starting from demolition practices and reuse onside processes, the research aims to hold together the potential value that could have the freed land to be returned to the city with the demand for new uses according as it could be the brownfield’s future life cycles. The research’s cultural file rouge is to bring together three topic filed, understood as paradigms of the urban design today: the care (as attention but also as therapy) of drosscape as new potential space in urban environment; the circular economy as reference point in building processes in next future; the urban mining concept as main topic to overcome the sectorial approach adopted in demolition waste - C&D field. © 2020, Luciano Editore.
