Abstract
The Australian petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA) conference in Darwin witnessed the industry's race towards development of wheatstone fields-Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects. Woodside Petroleum Ltd. and Chevron Australia Pty. Ltd. exhibited their developed respective Pluto and Wheatstone gas field-LNG projects where Chevron seeks to renew its retention license over Wheatstone field. ConocoPhillips would participate in reshuffling its four LNG projects fro the Queensland port of Gladstone based on coalseam methane (CSM) feedstock. The oil and gas industry needed to improve its safety performance facilitated by federal and state government to open onshore and offshore frontier basins. Stuart Petroleum Ltd. presented the conference with its geophysical and engineering studies on its Oliver oil field in the Timor Sea with increased estimated hydrocarbons in the Oliver structure. Santos Ltd., executed the conditional agreement to sell for $20 million without any strategic permit for its operations.
