Abstract
We have developed 2 kinds of portable XRF spectrometers for on-site analysis. The first is equipped with a monochromator, making it possible to sensitively analyze under a low background. This equipment is used widely in the archaeology field and an industrial field. Recently, we also developed equipment that improved the analysis sensitivity of the light element.Another equipment is a portable total reflection X-ray fluorescence (TXRF) spectrometer. We developed this equipment using polychromatic X-rays from an X-ray source of single-digit Watt. It has an analysis sensitivity of pg order. This equipment is used in the environment field, biological samples and in the analysis of uranium from nuclear power plants. This report, introduces an outline and application examples about 2 kinds of portable XRF spectrometers.
