Abstract
1. The influence of the structure of a chlorine-containing polymer on the kinetics of its thermal decomposition was demonstrated. 2. The polymers can be arranged in the following series with respect to increasing relative rate and decreasing activation energy of the decomposition process: polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinylidene chloride (activation energies equal to 33.5, 31.6, 28.7, and 27.5 kcal/mole, respectively). © 1965 Consultants Bureau.
