Abstract
The phenomenology of the corrosive attack experienced by a C-steel in trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene and 1,1,1-trichloroethane containing solvents was investigated. Mixtures with ethers, especially with tetrahydrofuran (THF), show increased corrosive properties. The mixtures with THF attack stainless chromium-nickel-(molybdenum) steels. The presence of FeCl//3 increases this attack.
