The authors present the results of a determination of the solubility of propylene in certain chlorocarbons (trichloroethylene, 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane), acids (acetic, propionic, isobutyric), saturated alcohols (ethanol, isopropanol, n-butanol), esters (ethyl acetate, ethers (1,4-dioxane), ketones (acetone, methylethylketone), benzene and its derivatives (nitrobenzene, chlorobenzene) at temperatures from 20 to 70 degree C and pressures of 1-7 atm. It is found that with increasing molecular weight of the solvent within a single class, an increase in the solubility of propylene was established. The values obtained for the heats of dissolution of propylene are approximately equal to or a little less than the heat of vaporization.
