Abstract
Methylation of 2-methylnaphthalene with methanol to produce 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene was studied on ZSM-5 and MFI-type metallosilicates. High selectivity for the formation of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene was achieved on ferrisilicate especially when the external surface was poisoned by 2,4-dimethylquinoline. © 1994, Elsevier Science B.V.
