Abstract
The compound, 5,5'-dihydroxy-2,2'-[1,1'-(propane-1,3-diyldioxydinitrilo)dimethylidyne]diphenol with,the molecular formula C17H18N2O6, assumes a cis conguration in which two phenoloxime moieties adopts an extended form. The dihedral angle between the two benzene : rings of the molecule is 1:83(3)degrees. There are two fairly strong intramolecular O3-H3 center dot center dot center dot N1 and O5-H5 center dot center dot center dot N2 hydrogen bonds. Each compound molecule links three other neighboring molecules through two pairs of intermolecular O6-H6 center dot center dot center dot O3 and O4-H4 center dot center dot center dot O6 hydrogen-bonding interactions into an infinite wave-like 2D-layer supramolecular structure parallel to the ab crystallographic plane.
