Abstract

Inspec provides abstracts and indexing to scientific literature in physics, engineering, electronics, computer science, and information technology. Inspec is produced by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and covers scientific and technical journals, conference proceedings, reports, dissertations, and books. Inspec is a long-standing database, rich in bibliographic features such as specialized indexing and a technical thesaurus. Inspec is available through several different vendor platforms, however this review focuses on Inspec by Elsevier’s Engineering Village product.

Inspec is an exemplary bibliography tool unmatched in searching and functionality within the physics and engineering fields.
