Pleurosium schreberi moss from the heavy metals-polluted Olkusz region (i) and Sphagnum fallax moss transplanted from non-polluted Augustow region and exposed in bags for 12 weeks during summer time in the Olkusz region (ii) were dry mineralized in a muffle furnace, dissolved in 30% HCl soln. and analyzed for Pd, Cd, Zn, Cu, Fe, Cr, Ni and AS contents by at. absorption spectrometry. The metal contents in (i) and (ii) were correlated to show the extent of air pollution with the metals. In the polluted region, the air pollution with Pb was 350 times, and with Zn times higher than in the non-polluted area. The picture of air pollution with Pb, Cd, An and As was on the immission maps similar in both cases according to both methods as verified by statistical anal.
