Abstract
Transesterification of vegetable oil was carried out with mixtures of methanol/ethanol and with NaOH as the catalyst. The results indicate that mixture of alcohol increases the rate of transeserification reaction. Through the single factor experiments and the Box-Benhnken designed experiment, the optimum conditions of preparation of Biodidesl are: the reaction temperature is 48.2DGC, the catalyst amount is 0.59%, and the reaction time is 25.4 min. Under this conditions, the conversion rate of Biodiesel can reach 99.3%. The characteristics of the product are in accord with GB/T 20828-2007.
