Abstract
Two-phase flow pressure drop behavior was studied in the anode flow field of a direct methanol fuel cell. Pressure drops between the inlet and outlet of the single serpentine flow channel were measured by varying current density. Pressure drop increased with increasing current density at low current density but after reaching a peak, pressure drop began to decline with increasing current density. Pressure drop always increased the methanol solution flow rate, and pressure drop became almost independent of current density when the methanol solution flow rate was sufficiently high.
