Abstract
Aqueous methanol extracts of Solanum incanum used in traditional medicine for treatment of various infections nature were screened for anti bacterial activity. The activity detected was against E. coli strains. The highest antibacterial activity was observed in KL16, HFRC and Y1090 followed by KL96, DH5a and C sub(2)H sub(5)a. In dilution factor, 1:4 and 1:3 exhibited higher activity than 1:2 and 1:1. These results indicate that the extracts were bacteriostatic at higher concentrations.
