Chemical threat to the environment in Poland
Abstract
Pollution of the environment in Poland is described and the concentrations of SO2, NOx, dust and metals in air are characterized. Surface water is classified according to sanitary standards, and the concentrations of heavy metals in the River Vistula are presented. Soil is mainly polluted with heavy metals; appropriate data depicting the situation are given. Characteristics of food product contamination are also presented.
